The wine’s intense colour is all that is needed to begin to guess what this wine holds. Bright bursts of colour emanate from its centre and its bouquet is without a doubt the most amazing aspect of this wine right now. Notes of spice remind me of my favourite rum (J.M.). After a lot of aeration in the glass, black fruit aromas appear and are mixed with the scent of flowers and dried herbs which grow on the steep terraces of its native Priorat. A fine aroma of oak lingers discreetly behind the wine’s restrained aromatic diversity. A first sip is disconcerting as its concentration is amazing. The unusual structure of this wine demands a taster’s patience. After some hours and lots of air, it becomes rounded with unique concentrated fruit. This fruit, however, is still only hinted at below a thick velvety cape, which only many years will lift.
